JUNIOR SEASON (2008)
Recorded 40 catches for 510 yards and a team-high eight receiving touchdowns despite missing two games due to an injury...averaged 12.8 yards per catch and 51 receiving yards per game...also recorded four carries for 60 yards...Slate enters 2009 with 19 career receiving touchdowns (8th all-time at Marshall) and 2,012 career receiving yards (10th all-time at Marshall)...Slate needs only 88 yards to become the all-time leading receiver among tight ends in school history.

SOPHOMORE SEASON (2007)
Led Marshall in receiving for the second consecutive year with 66 catches for 818 yards (68.2 yards per game) en route to being named All-Conference USA (First-team Media/Second-Team Coaches)...Slate earned honorable mention All-America honors from both SI.com and CollegeFootballNews.com...recorded five receiving touchdowns on the year...named the John Mackey National Tight End of the Week after he caught 11 passes for 177 yards and grabbed an 80-yard touchdown pass against New Hampshire on Sept. 15...had five catches for 82 yards and a touchdown against #5 West Virginia on Sept. 8 ...caught six passes for 102 yards and a score at Tulsa...had nine catches for 91 yards at eventual C-USA Champion UCF on Nov. 3...Slate's 5.5 receptions per game ranked third among all tight ends in the nation, behind only Wisconsin's Travis Beckum (a Junior with 5.77) and Missouri's Martin Rucker (Senior with 6.0)...Slate's 68.17 receiving yards per game ranked third in the nation among tight ends behind only Darius Hill (Sr.) of Ball State (71.23) and Beckum (75.54)...Slate finished the season as the only sophomore tight end in the nation to rank in the top three tight ends in receptions per game and receiving yards per game.

FRESHMAN SEASON (2006)
Appeared in all 12 games for the Herd as a freshman at tight end, making an immediate impact...Led all receivers with 43 catches for 684 yards and six touchdowns...He became the first freshman to lead Marshall in receiving since Randy Moss in 1996...As a true freshman, led all Conference USA tight ends in receiving...Also was the top pass catching freshman in the conference regardless of position and ranked eighth overall in receiving yards per game in C-USA with 57...Was named to the first team All-Conference media squad, while earning honorable mention honors on the coaches team...Named a Sports News Freshman All-America...Was a media and coaches Conference USA All-Freshman selection...Caught three passes for 57 yards in the season opener at WVU...Recorded his first career touchdown in a 54-31 win over Hofstra...Made five catches for 45 yards at Tennessee, followed by a 50-yard performance against UCF...Registered four catches for 135 yards, including a magnificent 75-yard touchdown during Homecoming against the Memphis Tigers...Added two more touchdown receptions against Tulane the following week...Recorded a career-high nine catches for 140 yards and a touchdown at East Carolina.
