182 Herd Student-Athletes Named to C-USA Honor Roll

Recipients maintain cumulative grade point averages of 3.0 or better

FRESHMAN SEASON (2014): One of only eight true freshmen to play for Herd in 2014 … Played in six games as a walk-on and backup at “fox” (rush end) … Had 69 snaps, with a high of 24 in win at Akron … Two tackles (one solo) … In preseason camp, started out at safety, then moved to linebacker, then back to safety before settling in at defensive end, where his athleticism stood out.

HERD FILE: Born Nov. 15, 1996 … Undecided on major at MU … Joined Herd team as walk-on just prior to August camp and enrolled at Marshall in August 2014; earned scholarship for 2015 spring semester … Brought speed to rush end spot as undersized (190 pounds) player with solid tackling skills … Played linebacker and wide receiver at Potomac High, and as a Rivals three-star prospect was projected as a college outside linebacker or strong safety … Made commitment to Tennessee in June 2013, but decommitted a year later … Also had offers from Temple, James Madison, Delaware and several Mid-American conference programs … As senior for a 5-5 Potomac team, registered 17 sacks and nine other tackles for loss … All-Prince Georges County 3A/2A/1A first team pick … As high school junior at Potomac after transfer from Dr. Henry Wise High, had 14 sacks to go with 25 receptions for 220 yards and four TDs … Played junior varsity football for two seasons, at Eleanor Roosevelt high as freshman and Wise High as sophomore.
