R-SOPHOMORE SEASON (2012): Made 11 appearances for the Herd (missed Western Carolina).

R-FRESHMAN SEASON (2011): Appeared in all 13 games, mainly on the extra point and field goal units.

FRESHMAN SEASON (2010): Redshirted.

PRIOR TO MARSHALL: A first-team all-state selection a tight end and second-team all-state pick as a defensive lineman for head coach Ed Homer at Christchurch...As a senior he caught 10 passes for 241 yards and four scores on the offensive side and recorded 40 tackles and three sacks with an interception on defense...In his career he caught 86 passes for 1,246 yards and recorded 122 tackles and 10 sacks...rated three stars by most recruiting services...Was an all-district tight end in 2007, an all-state defensive line pick in 2008 and his team MVP on offense...Chose Marshall over East Carolina, Maryland, South Carolina and West Virginia...Also played baseball, lacrosse and golf in high school.

PERSONAL: Son of Dexter and Michelle Lovell...Chose Marshall because of the family atmosphere...Lists video games, golf, fishing and riding four wheelers as his hobbies.
