Marshall Football Practice Report Day One|
Aug. 3, 2005
Wednesday marked the first day of the 2005 fall practice schedule for the Marshall Thundering Herd, as well as the unveiling of the new playing surface at Joan C. Edwards Stadium.
On Tuesday, one hundred five players reported to camp, including 13 seniors.
First-year head coach Mark Snyder directed a well organized two hour practice and the 2005 edition of the Thundering Herd showed a great deal of energy and excitement. Snyder was pleased with the effort, but did stress some concerns about his youthful squad.
"The guys showed a lot of enthusiasm today, but the system is still new and we have a lot of learning to do," Snyder said. "It was a long day for all of us.
"We have a long way to go. We have a lot of returning guys, but we also have a lot of youth and it showed today on the field."
The Thundering Herd will practice again on Thursday and fans will have their first opportunity to see the Herd on Friday during an autograph session from 6:30-7 p.m.
