The Herd's 59 points scored was its most since Marshall's 66-21 win over Buffalo on Oct. 12, 2002.
Marshall reached its season high point total in a game with 6:23 remaining in the first half with 31 points.
Marshall led 38-0 at halftime. The last time the Thundering Herd scored 38 points in a half was Oct. 12, 2002 when it scored 52 against Buffalo in a 66-21 win.
Marshall shut out an opponent at the half for the first time since the Herd led 10-0 against ECU on Nov. 10, 2007.
Marshall's opening drive for a touchdown took just 1:56, it's fastest of the season. Scoring at the 13:04 mark of the first quarter was also the earliest in a game that Marshall has scored this season.
Troy Evans' touchdown reception in the first quarter was his first of the season. It was a 16-yard pass from A.J. Graham. His 38-yard reception in the third quarter put him over 100 yards for the first time and set a career-high with 106 yards.
Gator Hoskins and Troy Evans' both recorded two touchdowns. It was the first time two Marshall players recorded two receiving touchdowns since Denero Marriott and Demetrius Doss accomplished the feat on Dec. 18, 2002 against Louisville in the GMAC Bowl.
At halftime, Marshall had outgained UAB 284-81 in total offense.
Rashad Jackson's first quarter interception was his second of the season.
Omar Brown's interception return for a touchdown was the first time Marshall has accomplished the feat since Rashad Jackson's pick-six against Tulane on Nov. 27, 2010. For Brown, it was his third interception of the season.
Devin Arrington's second quarter interception was his second of the season.
Billy Mitchell picked up a fumble forced by Vinny Curry and returned it 20-yards for his first career touchdown. It was also the first time Marshall had a fumble return for a touchdown since Rashad Jackson returned a 12-yard touchdown on Oct. 8, 2011 at UCF.
Defensive touchdowns by Brown and Mitchell made it the first time Marshall had two defensive scores since the GMAC Bowl on Dec. 19, 2001. That game had four defensive touchdowns, two by each team. Terence Tarpley and Ralph Street each had a 25-yard interception return for the Herd.
Marvin Burdette recorded his first sack of the season late in the third quarter.
