EL PASO, Texas (AP) -Trevor Vittatoe passed for 517 yards and five touchdowns as UTEP routed Marshall 52-21 on Saturday.

Jeff Moturi led receivers with 179 yards, including an 80-yard scoring pass from Vittatoe, who also connected for TDs with Tufick Shadrawy, Kris Adams, Jonny Moore and Donavon Kemp.

James Thomas and Donald Buckram also scored for UTEP on runs of 4 and 12 yards.

Brian Anderson threw for 347 yards and three touchdowns for the Thundering Herd. Anderson found Aaron Dobson, Chuck Walker and Antavio Wilson for scores. The MU signal caller also threw three interceptions, however.

After leading 20-14 at the break, the Miners exploded in the second half, adding four touchdowns and a field goal while holding the Thundering Herd to just one TD.

Marshall's Antavious Wilson recorded nine catches for 153 yards and a touchdown, while tight end Lee Smith added six grabs for 99 yards.

UTEP (408, 3-5) scored the last four touchdowns of the game. The Miners offense had five scoring drives of 80 yards that resulted in touchdowns and all of them took less than three minutes and 36 seconds. The Miners also scored on a three-play 73 yard touchdown drive that took only 43 seconds and one of the 80 yard drives was actually an 80 yard touchdown pass. All five of Vittatoe's touchdown passes went to a different receiver.

Marshall's defense, which has been the strength of the team over the last four games, yielded a season-high 52 points and 589 total yards to the Miners.

Marshall fell to 6-6 overall and 4-4 in Conference USA play. The Thundering Herd has now lost three of its last four games to close out the regular season.
