HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Marshall University Head Football Coach Mark Snyder confirmed Wednesday that Shannon Morrison has resigned his position as safeties coach in order to accept the position of co-defensive coordinator and secondary coach at Bowling Green.
"I am happy for Shannon and his family and we wish them the best," Snyder said. "This is a promotion to a defensive coordinator position where he will also oversee the entire secondary. It is an excellent opportunity for him. He will always be a part of our Marshall football family and I thank him for his work here the last four seasons."
Shannon, a standout player at Marshall in the early 90's, joined Marshall's staff in May of 2005. He served as linebackers coach for your two seasons, before taking over as safeties coach in 2007.
