HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Marshall University head football coach Mark Snyder announced the signing of 26 student-athletes on National Signing Day, Wednesday.

"We wanted to fill our needs and I am confident this incoming class does just that," Snyder said. "We have a diverse group of young men from all over the nation who have made a commitment to become a part of the Thundering Herd football family and I am looking forward to seeing them develop as students, players, and young men in the coming years."

Marshall's class of 2006 marks the first recruiting class for head coach Mark Snyder and features four offensive linemen, four defensive backs, four linebackers, three running backs, three wide receivers, two defensive ends, two defensive tackles, two tight ends, a quarterback, and an athlete that hail from 10 different states.

"I believe our coaching staff did an outstanding job throughout the recruiting process targeting speed, toughness, and athleticism. We filled our needs on offense, defense, and special teams," Snyder said. "We believe these young men are not only good football players, but first class individuals that have bought into our mission statement and will represent this University well."

Brian Anderson - QB, 6-3, 190, Louisville, Ky. (Male HS) Rated as the No. 10 overall player and No. 3 quarterback in Kentucky by ... helped Male to a 10-2 record and the second round of the 2005 Kentucky Class AAAA State Playoffs ... passed for 2,700 yards and 24 touchdowns with only four interceptions as a senior ... threw for more than 2,900 yards and 24 scores as a junior in 2004 and 1,978 yards and 16 touchdowns as a sophomore in 2003 ... coached by Bob Redman ... scored a 29 on his ACT ... also recruited by multiple Big 10 schools.

Antwan Booker - LB, 6-1, 240, Auburndale, Fla. Brandon Campbell - OL, 6-5, 305, Fort Washington, Md. (Friendly Senior HS) Played both guard and tackle at Friendly ... posted a 3.4 high school grade point average ... in two seasons allowed only one quarterback sack ... also recruited by Connecticut, Rutgers, and Maryland.

Josh Evans - OL, 6-4, 315, Fayetteville, W.Va.
