Feb. 28, 2013
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. -- Two Marshall football road games have been moved to Thursday nights for the 2013 season, Conference USA announced Thursday afternoon.
The Herd’s game at Middle Tennessee State, originally scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 19, will now be played on Thursday, Oct. 24. Marshall’s Saturday, Nov. 16 date at Tulsa will now be played two days earlier.
The changes became necessary to accommodate national television. Game times and networks will be announced at a later date.
Additional date changes to accommodate television do remain a possibility, and details of such games will be announced by the C-USA office as soon as possible. As of now, the Herd’s other four road games and all six home games are still scheduled for Saturdays.
Marshall will enter the 2013 season armed with one of the nation’s most prolific offenses, led by quarterback Rakeem Cato, Conference USA’s Most Valuable Player in 2012. The Herd opens the season Aug. 31 at Edwards Stadium against longtime rival Miami (Ohio).
