Todd Ellwood to Speak Saturday Afternoon
Former Herd wide receiver will address crowd at Memorial Fountain
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Former Marshall wide receiver Todd Ellwood will serve as the featured speaker at the annual turning on of the Memorial Fountain ceremony Saturday at noon prior to the 3 p.m. Spring Scrimmage.
Ellwood, the son of former Thundering Herd coach Frank Ellwood, played for Marshall from 1976-79. He posted 42 catches for 585 yards and eight touchdowns during his career in Huntington, while his 17 catch, 303-yard effort in 1978 was a team-high.
Ellwood’s remarks will come prior to those of former Marshall All-American (and current Philadelphia Eagle) Vinny Curry, who will be in town this weekend to give an update on the Vinny Curry Project, a fundraising campaign geared toward all Marshall alumni.
