Four Events Lined Up for Marshall Football Fans|
July 14, 2017
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall Athletics formally announced on Friday that four events, catering to Thundering Herd fans, are on the docket over the course of the next month.
The annual Fan Day will be Saturday, July 29 from 1-3:15 p.m. on the turf at Joan C. Edwards Stadium. Admission is free and, this year, the event will also feature a live radio remote and inflatables for children in attendance. In addition, Marshall Athletics will also hold its annual Choose Your Seat program in conjunction with the day’s events.
On Saturday, August 5, the department will hold its Big Green, Season Ticket-Holder Appreciation Night, where fans who have already purchased 2017 season tickets may pick them up at that time. All Marshall students (with a valid ID), Big Green members and season ticket holders will gain access to a Marshall Football practice at 4 p.m. via Gate A on the west side of the stadium. After the event, a handful of lucky winners will walk away with raffle prizes. Following the practice, the team will have a special cookout at approximately 7 p.m. for those in attendance who have RSVPed to the event by Friday, July 21 at 5 p.m. ET. You may RSVP at this link: https://marshallathletics.wufoo.com/forms/marshall-football-cookout-rsvp/. At the cookout, fans will enjoy complimentary food and soft drinks, an autograph session with players and much more. The season ticket account holder is allotted as many admissions to the cookout equal to number of season tickets that person buys for their party (Example: 6 total season tickets=a maximum of 6 people who can attend the cookout). If you are not a current season ticket holder and only a 2017-18 Big Green member, you are allotted two admissions to the event. The account holder is the only individual who can RSVP to the event for their party. The individual's name who is on the account must be present and will be asked to provide valid ID upon entry. If the season ticket holder or Big Green member is not present, the entire party will not be allowed entry.
On Wednesday, August 16, Marshall Athletics will hold a picnic for all incoming Marshall University freshmen at 5:30 p.m. on the east side of Joan C. Edwards Stadium as part of the school’s Week of Welcome (WOW). At approximately 7 p.m., We Are Marshall will be shown on the stadium’s videoboards. The general public is also invited to this event.
On Thursday, August 17, the fourth Pullman Square Marshall Pep Rally will be held at 6 p.m. The 3rd Avenue area behind the stage will be barricaded so that fans will be able to meet Thundering Herd student-athletes, sign autographs and take pictures.
