The Marshall University football team will practice in full pads for the first time at 3:20 p.m. on Tuesday at Joan C. Edwards Stadium and the session is open to the general public.

Marshall opened football camp with its first practice last Thursday, however the coaching staff and fans will now get their first look at the 2006 Thundering Herd in full gear. Marshall head coach Mark Snyder said that fans can expect to see plenty of contact on Tuesday.

"There is going to be a whole bunch of hitting," Snyder said following a spirited practice on Monday. "Practice is going to be full blast and full speed."

Despite, wearing only shoulder pads and helmets there was plenty of contact on Monday as offensive and defensive players, eager to don full pads, battled throughout the afternoon session.

"There was a lot of toughness out there, but we have to make sure it comes before the whistle," Snyder said. "Its a process (camp). We challenged the offense to match the intensity that the defense has shown and I think they did that today."
