Herd Has Solid Day Of Practice
Choose Your Seat Set For Tuesday
After Mother Nature threw a monkey wrench into Sunday’s practice, shortening the session by 45 minutes because of lightening, the 19th ranked Marshall football squad got in a pair of solid practice sessions on Monday.
The Thundering Herd will continue training camp on Tuesday with three scheduled practice sessions, at 6:30 and 11:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
The most noticeable thing at Monday’s sessions, besides the continued stellar play of senior receiver Demetrius Doss, is the number of players missing time with a variety of injuries.
“We are awaiting word on Maurice McKinney’s MRI results, which we probably won’t have until in the morning, but most of the guys who are missing just have the normal aches and pains from training camp,” Herd coach Bob Pruett said.
“We had a little bit of a problem on Sunday with the heat, but the guys seem to be getting adjusted to it now.”
Doss (Virginia Beach, VA) continued to shine as he worked with the first team offense. During Monday morning’s practice session he had a highlight moment, beating senior Terence Tarpley for a touchdown on a corner pass from Byron Leftwich. After the play both Doss and Tarpley ended up in the ice baths used by the athletic training staff to help players cool off after practice.
Choose Your Seat
The Marshall Athletic Ticket Office will hold a “Choose Your Seat Day” for potential season ticket buyers on Tuesday from 4 to 6:30 p.m. at Marshall University Stadium.
Available seats will be marked in the stadium and the event will be held in conjunction with the afternoon practice for the football team. An autograph session will be held after the practice.
Limited free sample sized concessions will also be available to “Choose Your Seat” participants compliments of Sedexho, Pepsi and local contractors.
