HUNTINGTON, W.Va. -
Marshall University Director of Athletics Mike Hamrick announced Thursday that the Thundering Herd/ISP Sports Network has entered into a partnership with WSAZ Television that will lead to two Thundering Herd football games being broadcast locally this fall.
"I want to thank ISP Sports, Conference USA and WSAZ for working with us to bring this package together and give Marshall Football an increased presence on television throughout West Virginia and the Tri-State region," Hamrick said.
Marshall's September 19th home game with Bowling Green and the Thundering Herd's November 28th game at UTEP will be broadcast by WSAZ in the Charleston/Huntington market with Keith Morehouse handling play-by-play duties and former Marshall Head Coach Sonny Randle serving as the analyst. Due to a scheduling conflict, John Gregory will sit in for Coach Randle for the Bowling Green telecast. Kickoff for the Bowling Green game is set for 7 p.m. and the UTEP game is scheduled for a 3 p.m. (ET) kickoff.
Marshall Athletics has a long history with WSAZ and the station currently produces Marshall Football Today with Mark Snyder, Marshall Basketball Today with Donnie Jones and the Marshall Magazine television program.
Marshall now has eight football games scheduled to be televised either nationally or regionally this season and more games could be picked up at a later date.
