Audio Compact Disc of "Great Games" to be Included with Football Game Programs
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Marshall University, in conjunction with ISP Sports, will offer audio compact discs that feature great moments in Marshall football history with every purchase of a game program at football games this season.
“We have received countless requests for highlight CD’s of great games over the years, like last year’s GMAC Bowl and the 1999 MAC Championship game,” Marshall University Director of Broadcast Services Steve Cotton said. “Thanks to ISP Sports we are going to be able to provide highlight CDs to those purchasing game programs this year.”
Every fan who purchases a $6.00 copy of the new and improved 114-page, Thundering Herd Gameday Magazine will receive an estimated forty minute highlight CD that features radio broadcast excerpts from a great game in Marshall football history. These limited edition CDs will only be available with a purchase of Thundering Herd Gameday.
This Saturday’s Thundering Herd Gameday Magazine features Heisman hopeful Byron Leftwich on the cover and will come with a highlight CD featuring Marshall’s record-breaking win over East Carolina in the 2001 GMAC Bowl. The second CD in the series, which is scheduled to be released with game programs for Marshall’s Sept. 20th meeting with Central Florida, will feature the 1999 Mid-American Conference Championship game.
“We are trying to be innovative with our game programs,” ISP Vice President Jim Woodrum said. “Marshall is going to be the first school in the nation to offer audio highlight CDs with game programs, and we think its going to be a great bonus for the fans. Our plan is to try it for the first two games of the season, and if all goes well, we plan to produce different CDs for the remainder of the season and in coming years.”
