Marshall University will face a tough road test when it travels to Bowling Green on Saturday to take on the Falcons in a key game for both schools at 7 p.m. at Doyt Perry Stadium in Bowling Green, Ohio.
The Thundering Herd and Falcons are off to 0-2 starts and are both in search of their first win of the season. Marshall has played at No. 2 Ohio State and lost a heartbreaker to No. 22 West Virginia in overtime last Friday. The Falcons dropped a close contest at Troy and fell last Saturday at Tulsa.
This contest will be the home opener for the Falcons who have historically been dominate at home in the series with Marshall. The Falcons hold an all-time record of 12-2 over Marshall at home with the Herd's only wins at Bowling Green coming in 1954 and 2000. The Thundering Herd's last visit to Doyt Perry Stadium ended with a 56-35 Falcon victory.
The game will be televised by the Buckeye Cable Sports Network with BCSN announcers Greg Franke and Tom Cole calling the game. ISP Sports, in conjunction with WSAZ, have secured the right to carry the BCSN broadcast on WSAZ in the Huntington/Charleston market. The game will also be available on ESPN Gameplan.
The Thundering Herd/ISP Sports Radio Network broadcast featuring Steve Cotton play-by-play and Frank Giardina analysis will begin with the pregame show at 5 p.m. across the Thundering Herd/ISP Sports Network.
