Marshall-Louisville Game Notes
LOUISVILLE, Ky.-The Marshall football team (1-3) travels to Louisville (2-1) for a 3:30 p.m. ET kickoff from Papa John's Stadium on Saturday. The game will be carried locally on WOWK-TV.
Marshall suffered a 30-10 defeat at the hands of 11th-ranked Virginia Tech last week. Marshall quarterback Rakeem Cato finished 17 for 33 with 245 passing yards and one 29-yard touchdown to Aaron Dobson. Dobson was Cato's favorite target with five receptions for 103 yards. Antavious Wilson also finished with three receptions for 72 yards. Defensively, safety Omar Brown had 17 tackles, including one tackle for loss, one forced fumble and one pass breakup.
The Cardinals were off last week after winning at Kentucky 24-17 on Sept. 17. Quarterback Teddy Bridgewater threw two touchdown passes in relief of injured starter Will Stein. Josh Bellamy, who had four catches for 60 yards and a touchdown, was the top receiver, while Dexter Heyman racked up 12 tackles, including two tackles for loss and a forced fumble. Dominique Brown was the leading ground-gainer with 14 carries for 91 yards.
Following Saturday's game, the Herd will travel to Central Florida for a 7 p.m. ET Saturday kickoff with the Knights.
