HUNTINGTON, W.Va. -
The Thundering Herd will host the UCF Knights and an ESPN national television audience on Wednesday night at Joan C. Edwards Stadium. Kickoff is set for 8:05 p.m.
Marshall (1-4, 0-1 C-USA) will be looking for its first Conference USA win of the season when it takes on C-USA East Division rival UCF (3-2, 1-0). A "white-out" is in effect for the game and all Herd fans are being asked to where white clothing to the game. The first 2,000 fans will receive a free white t-shirt from Dutch Miller Auto and the first 1,500 students at the game will be given white rally towels. In addition, the Marshall Football Team will be wearing white uniforms for the game.
Marshall and UCF have met on the football field every year since 2002 and the Knights lead the series 5-3. Marshall was full-member of the Mid-American Conference from 1997-2004 and UCF joined the MAC as a football-only member in 2002 and remained in the league until the 2005 season when it also joined Conference USA
along with Marshall. The Herd won the first three meetings, however UCF has now won five straight in the series. Marshall is 2-2 at home against the Knights. UCF picked up a come-from-behind win in Orlando last season, 21-20.
Beth Mowins will serve as the play by player announcer and David Norrie as the analyst for the ESPN broadcast.
