Heisman Trophy Tour To Stop In Huntington

    Marshall University football fans will get a chance to get a close look at the most prestigious award in college football Saturday afternoon prior to kickoff of the Marshall-Troy State football game.

    The bronze statue of John Heisman, which is presented annually by the Downtown Athletic Club of New York to the top player in college football, will be on display as a part of ?The Heisman Tour presented by Suzuki and ESPN The Magazine?.

    The trophy will be on display on the Henderson Center tarmac from 1:30-4:30 p.m. on Saturday as a part of an interactive fan experience.

    In addition to seeing the trophy, Herd fans can let their voices be heard by casting their votes for who the 2002 Heisman Trophy winner should be. The winner of the season-long fan ballot will receive one first place vote for the award.

    Fans can also cast their votes at www.voteHeisman.com.

    There will be a variety of interactive games for fans to participate in as well as sponsor booths with a variety of giveaways. Some of the games planned include a Quarterback Toss and a Ladder Crawl. There will also be a giant inflatable Heisman for fans to enjoy.

    Past stops on the Heisman tour this year have been at Colorado, Alabama, Louisville, Northwestern and Kansas and future stops are planned for Texas A&M, Washington State, Stanford and Oregon.
