HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall Athletics and IMG, America’s home for college sports, will team up once again Saturday to carry the Herd’s 4:30 p.m. ET game at #20/21 Houston (6-0, 2-0 C-USA) locally on WSAZ-TV.
The station also carried Marshall’s game at UCF on Oct. 8.
"We are grateful for the opportunity to, once again, partner with WSAZ to bring Marshall Football back to the Tri-state area on Saturday,” said Jason Golden, General Manager Marshall Thundering Herd Sports Marketing. “This broadcast gives Herd fans another chance to see Marshall play a big Conference USA game against a marquee opponent, which is a win-win for everyone involved.”
The game will pit the 3-4 (2-1 C-USA) Thundering Herd against the Cougars, who are unbeaten, sit 19th in the season’s first release of the BCS standings and display the nation’s top offense, generating more than 600 yards of total offense per game.
Marshall knocked off Rice 24-20 last week on the strength of a masterful performance by senior defensive end Vinny Curry. The Neptune, N.J. native earned conference and national defensive player of the week honors after he racked up nine tackles, which included four tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks, to go with a forced fumble and a fumble recovery. On the season, Curry leads the nation in tackles for loss with 17 and is second with 9.5 sacks. His contributions have also helped the Herd rank first nationally with 67 tackles for loss.
