Marshall fans following the Thundering Herd men's basketball team to the Glenn Wilkes Classic in Daytona Beach, Fla., Nov. 21-23, can also watch most of the MU-Rice football game on Saturday afternoon.
A special party hosted by the Big Green Scholarship Foundation and the Victory Club is scheduled for the Legends Sports Bar inside the Hilton Ocean Walk Resort across the street from the basketball arena immediately after the Herd's 2 p.m. Nov. 22 basketball game with Wisconsin-Green Bay.
The football game, played in Houston, has a 3:30 p.m. kickoff, which means Herd fans can watch at least the second half of the football game on TV (CBS College Sports TV) following the basketball game.
There will be no admission cost to the party at the Legends, which has a full menu of appetizers and sandwiches, plus numerous plasma TV sets to view the Herd football game. Marshall Coach Donnie Jones is expected to make an appearance at the party.
The Herd begins play in the Glenn Wilkes Classic on Friday at 2 p.m. against Morgan State, then 2 p.m. Saturday against Wisconsin-Green Bay and 4 p.m. Sunday vs. Mississippi of the Southeastern Conference. The tournament is being played at the Daytona Beach Ocean View Center. For tickets ($10 per session plus service charge) call the Ocean View ticket office at 386-254-4545.
