Quotes from Marshall University Football Coach Mark Snyder's Weekly Press Conference

On Senior Day...

We are excited to be home. I think our young guys are excited to try and send these seniors out right and I think our seniors are looking forward to trying to put us on a good road as we head into the off season. We are all excited to be back home in front of our home crowd.

On young players getting more reps this week...

We will have a little extra time for them. The young players we are redshirting are going to do some scrimmaging at the end of practice this week.

On UAB...

Neill (Callaway) has done a good job. He is playing a lot of young guys and they play with a lot of passion. They are very talented athletically. They are athletic on both sides of the ball and they are getting better. They are just young. It will be interesting to see how they use the quarterbacks, they rotated them every series last week. They have a very good freshman wideout and defensively we are going to get more pressure than we have seen all year. They blitz a lot and have confidence in their corners. Their kicking game is very good as well. Their kicker probably has the strongest leg in the conference. He is probably putting 90% of his kicks into the endzone.

On the Senior Class going through a coaching and conference change in their careers...

They have persevered. These guys have not had a lot of success and they have gone through a coaching change and moved into a tougher conference. They have persevered and I think they have done a pretty good job of laying down a foundation for the future. You look at this football team and they have not quit all year. We all know sitting here with this record, it would be very easy to pack it in. They have not done that and they have not allowed our younger players to do that and I appreciate them for that leadership. They have been the transition group and that's hard. It is also why they will always be near and dear to me.

What he will tell the seniors pre-game...

Play for yourselves. This is the last time to play out here and I remember what that feels like. It was 20 years ago, but I still remember it and it was very special. The fans were doing the wave against Webber State...it was awesome. This will be something you never forget, so lets make it a memorable one.

On potentially winning the last three home games...

That would be nice. Any kind of momentum you can take into the off-season is nice to have.

On kickoff returns at Houston...

It was a combination of Houston being pretty good and needing to get some things fixed. We as a coaching staff talked about that at length on Sunday and that was the first special teams area we addressed. We were not good enough on Saturday. We feel like anytime we put that unit out there we can score. We have addressed that, no question.

On Bernard Morris and seniors potentially trying to do too much on Saturday...

I don't think so. He does not strike me as that kind of guy. I think all of those guys (seniors) will be fine. We just have to make sure they do not press too much.

On injuries...

We are going to keep some guys out of practice today, just to rest them and get them healthy. We should be at full strength on Saturday.
