Summer and Fall 2006:
Had a very productive summer heading into senior year...captured the Maine Amateur and was named the Maine Golf Association Player of the Year...finished 7th at the New England Amateur, and qualified for the U.S. Amateur in July...tied for 13th at Mid-Pines...tied for third at Adams Cup...72.22 stroke average...low round of 69 at Adams Cup.
Played in all 33 rounds as a junior, and posted the Herd's lowest single-season stroke average in history with a 73.27...tallied four top-five finishes and five top-ten finishes...best finish of the year was a second place finish at the Marshall Invitational when he shot 213 (73-72-68); lost on first playoff hole to Eastern Michigan's Peter Sauerbrei...his third-round 68 was his best round of the season...finished in a tie for 3rd at Memphis Intercollegiate with 214 (73-70-71), placed in a tie for fourth at the Herd's El Diablo Intercollegiate tournament (74-69-76=219), finished in a tie for fourth at the Furman Intercollegiate with a 217 (72-73-72), and in a tie for ninth at the Kepler Intercollegiate with a 222 (78-71-73).
Third low amateur at Vermont Open...22nd at Northeast Amateur...stroke play medalist at Maine Amateur...finished in third place at New England Amateur...played in all Fall events...led team with 74.25 stroke average...tied for 3rd at Memphis Intercollegiate...tied for 23rd at Adams Cup of Newport...low round of 70 came at Memphis Intercollegiate.
Led team with a 74.47 average...tied for 9th at Adams Cup...tied for 18th at the Xavier Fall Invitational...tied for 23rd at Furman Intercollegiate...tied for 12th at First Energy Intercollegiate at Firestone Country Club...tied for 19th at MAC Championship.
Qualified (Medalist) for the U.S. Amateur Public Links Championship...was the low Amateur at the Greater Portland (Maine) Open...was an alternate U.S. Amateur selection...was a runner-up at the Barrett East Coast Amateur...won the Maine Open in August, the first amateur in 33 years accomplish the feat.
Capped off an outstanding freshman campaign at the MAC Championships, finishing in a tie for 6th, which gave him second team All-MAC honors...led the Herd in scoring average, playing in all 32 rounds with a 74.81 average...led the Herd contingent in five tournaments his freshman year (Xavier Provident Invitational, El Diablo Intercollegiate, Furman Intercollegiate, Johnny Owens Invitational, Robert Kepler Intercollegiate)...had a low round of 67 at the Xavier Provident Invitational.
Prior To Marshall:
Was the Maine Junior Amateur Champion in 2000 and 2001, and the Maine State High School Champion in 2002...during his high school career, he had a 35.1 scoring average and was unbeaten in match play with a 49-0-7 record...was an All-State selection and named the 2002 State MVP...finished second in the New England Interscholastic Individual Championship in 2003 and second in the New England Junior Inivtational in 2002...claimed the 2003 East Coast Amateur Championship and was also a qualifier at the U.S. Amateur Public Links in 2003...placed 8th at the New England Amateur Championship and 15th at the Greater Portland Open in 2003...was a member of the Maine State Club Team Champion squad...in 2002, he finished 31st at the Western Junior Championship and 9th at the PGA of America Junior...participated and faired well in three AJGA events, including the Tucker Anthony Junior in 2001 (11th), the SLI Junior Classic in 2002 (2nd), and the Fieldstone Classic (9th).
