Round One Results

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The Marshall men’s golf team finished the first round of the Kingsmill Intercollegiate in fifth place. There are still two more rounds in the tournament.

The snowy and windy round was highlighted by senior Clark Robinson’s 1-over-par 71. Robinson finished the opening round in a tie for ninth place for the individuals.

Louisville has a three-stroke lead over Penn State at an even-for-par 280. Individually, the Cardinals’ Keegan de Lange and Nicolas Platret lead the way with a 2-under-par 68.

Head coach Matt Grobe

“I was so happy for the guys today! They played great golf. The conditions were brutally tough. It snowed this morning, and the winds were blowing from 10 to 20 miles per hour all day. It was chilly and the course played tough. The thing that made me the happiest is that the guys didn’t make excuses and played the best golf they could given the conditions. They all fought to the very end.”
