Men's Golf Finishes Tied for 19th at Furman Intercollegiate

Marshall University's men's golf team struggled in the third and final round of the Furman Intercollegiate Sunday to finish tied for 19th in the 22-team field.

The Herd shot a team total of 307 on Sunday after recording scores of 304 and 294 in the first two rounds to finish at 909 (+45). Clemson won the team title with a three-round total of 848 (-16).

The Thundering Herd was paced by Christian Brand who carded rounds of 75, 69 and 74 to post a two-over-par 218 and finish tied for 24th overall. Purdue's William Sjaichudin won medalist honors with a 206 (-10).

Marshall's Bosten Miller shot rounds of 74, 75, 76 to finish with a 225, Brian Anania shot rounds of 78, 76, 78 to record a 232, Carson Schambach shot rounds of 77, 78, 79 to post a 234 and Nathan Kerns carded rounds of 78, 78 and 81 to finish at 237. Bennett Boyer competed as an individual and recorded a 249.

Marshall will next compete in the FAU Spring Break Classic, March 25-27, at Gleneagles C.C. in Delray Beach, Fla.
