Men's Golf In 10th Place After Two Rounds At Furman Invitational

GREENVILLE, S.C. - The Marshall men's golf team is in 10th place after two rounds of the Furman Invitational after firing a second-round team total of 306 Saturday. The Herd has a total score of 604 for the tournament.

Leading the 17-team field is Maryland, who enters the final round with a 578 after consecutive rounds of 289. The Terrapins' Blaine Pefflex leads the tournament with a 139 (70-69).

Junior Shawn Warren (Windham, Maine) leads the Herd contingent with a 145 after firing a second-round 73. Warren is in a tie for 10th place.

Other Marshall scorers were Jonathan Pepe (McKeesport, Pa.) at 150 (73-77, T-32), Trent Schambach (Glen Dale, W.Va.) with a 154 (76-78, T-58), Chris Tipper (Parkersburg, W.Va.) at 158 (78-80, T-82), and Brandon Katzeff with a 160 (75-85, T-86). Nathan Kinker (Barboursville, W.Va.) shot a 154 (75-79, T-58) as an individual.

The final 18 holes of the Furman Invitational begins Sunday morning.
