Men's Golf Finishes Fourth at Ball State

Marshall University's men's golf team finished fourth in the 15-team Earl Yestingsmeier Invitational hosted by Ball State University with a three round score of 1123.

Ball State won the tournament with a score of 1104, followed by Bowling Green at 1113, Northern Illinois at 1120 and Marshall at 1123.

Marshall placed two golfers in the tournament's final top 10. The Herd's Bosten Miller fired a 71 in the final round to finish the tournament in a tie for third place with a score of 216 (+6), while Chrisitan Brand finished tied for eighth with a total score of 219 (+9).Ball State's Eric Steger was the medalist with a three-round score of 214 (+4). He was followed by his teammate Tyler Merkel (215), and Marshall's Bosten Miller (216) and Bowling Green's Drew Preston (216).

The Herd's Nathan Kerns finished tied for 15th overall at 224. Brian Anania shot a 229 to finish tied for 36th, while Aaron Boogs recorded a 236 and Marshall Hone shot a 240.

The Thundering Herd now turns its focus toward next week's Conference USA Championship in Texarkana, Arkansas.
