Final Round of Joe Feaganes Invitational Canceled due to Rain
Herd senior Weiss won the overall and Dayton took the team title

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The final round of the Joe Feaganes Marshall Invitational has been canceled due to rain. Final results were used from the 36 holes that were played Monday.
Rain came down during the night and in the early morning hours making for a soggy but playable course. The players got started at 8:30 a.m., almost immediately followed by more rain. The first rain delay came around 10 a.m., for 45 minutes. The field went back out on the course at 10:45 a.m. Play lasted about 30 minutes before the horn sounded as the rain made the course unplayable.
Players only made it through about four to five holes in the third round.
Dayton came away with the team championship shooting a 6-under, 562 through the two rounds. Marshall was the runner-up finishing just one stroke back with a 5-under, 563. Herd senior Alex Weiss won the overall title with an 11-under, 131. Weiss shot a 5-under, 66 in round one and followed up with a 6-under, 65 in round two.
The next event for the men’s golf team is Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 16-17, at the EKU Colonel Classic in Richmond, Ky.
