RICHMOND, Ky. – Marshall men’s golf senior Clark Robinson put together a strong third round and climbed six spots to finish as the runner-up at the EKU Intercollegiate Sunday afternoon. Marshall as a team improved three spots from the end of day one to finish ninth out of 18 teams.
Robinson began the tournament with a 1-over 71 in the first round. Robinson improved by three strokes in the second round as he birdied five holes, including three of the first six. His third round began at the ninth hole with birdies on nine and 10. Three bogies on 13, 14 and 18 did not keep Robinson down. He sank birdie shots on holes 15, one and four and scored an eagle. Number two was a par-5, 506 yard hole that Robinson finished in three strokes.
He ended the day with a 4-under 66 to climb all the way up to second, one stroke off the lead.
Senior Will Evans finished in the top 10 as well tied for ninth at even par.

Head Coach Matt Grobe:
“Clark (Robinson) played great today and it was fun to watch. He is really playing well right now. Will (Evans) had a really good week. The rest of the guys really fought hard even though they didn’t have their A game. I’m looking forward the Memphis this week.”
“I had fun playing this week. I have been struggling off the tee as of late but once I trusted myself, everything fell into place. My putting has been a real confidence booster as well these last few weeks.”
