Marshall Men's Golf Leads After First Day Of Cardinal Intercollegiate
Thundering Herd Hold Two Shot Advantage Over Miami (Ohio)

LOUISVILLE, Ky.--The Marshall University Men's Golf Team leads the Cardinal Intercollegiate after the first 36 holes at the Cardinal Club. Marshall holds a two-shot advantage (566-568) over Miami (Ohio).
The Thundering Herd got off to a strong start, landing in third place after round one. MU shot 282 during the morning session, led by a three under performance from Nathan Kerns (69). Aaron Boggs was two under (70) while Brian Anania carded a one under performance (71) during the first 18. Bosten Miller shot 72 while Christian Brand was three over (75) in the first round.
Marshall continued its consistant play in round two, posting a 284. Boggs carded a three-under 69 to pace the Herd and move into a tie for second place (70-69-139) with Louisville's Riley Wheeldon. The duo trail first place Matt Stasiak by one stroke.
Kerns posted a 73 in the afternoon while Anaia again had a 71. Kerns and Anaia (142) are tied with eight other players for ninth place. Miller's 72 gave him a two-round total of 144 (even par) and he finds himself in a tie for 24th place. Brand recorded a 72 in round two for a 36-hole total of 147. Brand is tied for 42nd five other players.
Marshall is in position to win its first team title since the 2000 Kingsmill Invitational. The final round is scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday morning.
