MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Junior Shawn Warren (Windham, Maine) leads the Herd contingent after finishing the first two rounds of the Memphis Intercollegiate in fourth place with a total of 143 (73-70). The team is in 13th place out of 15 teams heading into the final round.
Marshall fired a 608 (298-310) team score for the first day, 29 strokes behind the University of Memphis, who leads the tournament with a 579 (291-288).
Other individual scores for the Herd were Trent Schambach (Glen Dale, W.Va.), who carded a 154 (74-80, T-50), Matt Scytkowski (South Hadley, Mass.), who posted a 156 (77, 79, T-58), Jonathan Pepe (McKeesport, Pa.), with a 157 (75-82, T-62), and Chris Tipper (Parkersburg, W.Va.), who also scored a 157 (76-81, T-62). Nathan Kinker of Barboursville, W.Va., played as an individual and finished with a 161 (82-79, T-78).
Kevin Fortin-Simard of Memphis leads the individual portion of the tournament with a 146 (69-67).
The final round of the Memphis Intercollegiate wraps up Tuesday.
