Lagodich's First Round Puts Herd Nine Strokes off Lead

HEBRON, Ky. – Freshman Logan Lagodich fired Marshall’s lowest round of the day and the men’s golf team sits in a tie for sixth and nine strokes off the lead after the first round of the Bearcat Invitational.

Lagodich had a first round of 72 (E) and the Thundering Herd as a team eight-over-par 296 at the par-72 Traditions Golf Club in Herbon, Ky.

Lagodich is tied for 10th, five strokes off the lead. Northern Kentucky’s Corey Richmond is first after a five-under-par 67.

The first round of the invitational was delayed for an hour and 40 minutes due to frost on the course. Only a portion of the second round was completed due to darkness being called at 7 p.m. The second round will resume at 9 a.m., with the third and final round beginning afterwards.

Brian Anania is tied for 18th after his one-over-par 73 in Monday’s first round. Nathan Kerns shot a two-over-par 74 and is in a tie for 28th.

The two remaining players for Marshall were Jeremy Rogers, who shot a five-over-par 77 and Josh Holmes, who carded a nine-over-par 83.

Belmont has the team lead with a one-under-par 287 and Northern Kentucky trails by one shot after a even-par 288.
