Kerns Paces Men's Golf on Day One

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Nathan Kerns shot a one-over-par 73 to lead the Marshall men’s golf team after the first round of the ODU/OBX Invitational.

At the Kilmarlic Golf Club in Powells Point, N.C., the Thundering Herd finds itself in 12th after the team shot a 310 on the par-72, 6535-yard course.

Kerns, who after his first nine holes was at the top of the leaderboard, is seven strokes off the lead and tied for 13th. Scott Wolfes from Georgia Southern shot a six-under-par 66 Sunday to lead the field.

Brian Anania led the remainder of Marshall’s team with a six-over-par 78. Jeremy Rogers was nearby with a seven-over-par 79.

Rounding out the Herd’s effort was Josh Holmes with an eight-over-par 80 and Logan Lagodich with a nine-over-par 81.

Georgia Southern is the team leader after combining for a two-over-par 290. Richmond is tied with the hosts Old Dominion in second place with a seven-over-par 295.
