Herd Men’s Golf Finishes Round One at ODU/OBX Intercollegiate
Frazier and Roeder lead the team in a tie for 23rd

POWELLS POINT, N.C. – The Marshall men’s golf team wrapped up round one Sunday afternoon at the ODU/OBX Intercollegiate. The Thundering Herd sits in a tie for ninth.
Thomas Frazier and Ben Roeder lead the way for the Herd in a tie for 23rd. Frazier collected three birdies and scored an eagle on the 12th hole. Roeder kept his play steady throughout the entire round to hit an even par 71.
Alex Weiss is just behind Frazier and Roeder after scoring a 1-over 72.
Campbell leads the team side by 9-strokes over the host school Old Dominion. The Camels hit a 14-under 270. Chad Hess of Old Dominion leads the player field with a 7-under 64.

“The guys played some really solid golf. We just have to stay away from penalty strokes and putt a little better. There are two rounds left. We need to make a move tomorrow morning. I’m really happy with Ben (Roeder) and Thomas (Frazier) for shooting solid even par rounds of 71.”

The second round of the ODU/OBX Intercollegiate is scheduled to get started with the first tee times at 8:30 a.m. Marshall will begin round two at 10 a.m. The weather for Monday at Powells Point, N.C., looks to be cloudy with temperatures in the low to mid 70s.
