Strong Final Round by Kerns Ends Men's Golf Fall Season|

POWELLS POINT, N.C. – A strong finish by Nathan Kerns helped his team end play at the ODU/OBX Invitational held at Kilmarlic Golf Club in Powells Point, N.C.
Kerns, the team’s lone senior and top golfer of the season so far, put together a final round of four-under-par 68 to end play in the three day event at one-under-par 215. He earned his fourth top 10 finish in five tournaments with a tie for eighth.
Marshall as a team wrapped up its fall slate with a 12th out of 18 teams finish. The Thundering Herd combined for a score of 915.
Brian Anania and Jeremy Rogers finished play with identical scores of 230 in the three rounds. Rogers had the better third round score with a three-over-par 75 on Tuesday. Anania was five-over-par during the final round of play.
Closing Marshall’s team effort was Logan Lagodich, who put together a four-over-par 76 to finish the tournament with a 241. Josh Holmes was the fifth and final player for Coach Matt Grobe’s squad. The junior shot a seven-over-par Tuesday and ended action with a 244.
Georgia Southern’s Scott Wolfes was the individual title winner as he edged out Weston Eklund of Radford on the first playoff hole.
Wolfes’ Eagles were the team champion after soaring to a 12-stroke win over Richmond with a 10-under-par 854.
The three day event served as the wrap-up event for the men’s team fall schedule. It will be back on the course in March as it returns to North Carolina for the Davidson College Invitational.
