Men's Golf Plays At Ron Smith/USF Invitational

DADE CITY, Fla. - The Marshall men's golf team will participate in the Ron Smith/USF Invitational this Friday through Sunday in a 54-hole event at the South Course at Lake Jovita in Dade City.

While this event has been going on for many years (either as the Ron Smith or Dick Wittcoff Invitational), this is the first time it will be held at Lake Jovita. Previously, it had been held at the University of South Florida Golf Course. Middle Tennessee (871) is the defending champ and New Orleans (872) finished second last year (when the event was named the Dick Wittcoff Invitational).

The field includes: Austin Peay State, Bowling Green, Columbus State, DePaul, Florida Atlantic, Florida Southern, Jacksonville State, Marquette, Marshall, Middle Tennessee, Missouri State, Nebraska, New Orleans, Oral Roberts, Rhode Island, Troy and host institution South Florida.

Competing for the Thundering Herd this weekend is Christian Brand (Charleston, W.Va.), Shawn Warren (Windham, Maine), Jonathan Pepe (McKeesport, Pa.), Nathan Kinker (Barboursville, W.Va.), and Andy Foster (Vinton, Va.).
