HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - An endowed men's golf scholarship has been established at Marshall by the C.W. Campbell Co. and Dingess-Rum Properties, Inc. in honor of world renowned amateur golfer Bill Campbell.

"What an honor it is to have an endowed golf scholarship here at Marshall named after Bill Campbell," said Marshall head coach Joe Feaganes.

Born in Huntington, Campbell played in 37 U.S. Amateurs, including 33 consecutively from 1941-77, and won the event in 1964. He is a two-time President of the United States Golf Association (USGA) and was inducted in to the World Golf Hall of Fame in 1990. The scholarship will bear his name and be known as the "William C. Campbell Endowed Golf Scholarship."
