Men’s Golf to Host the 2017 Joe Feaganes Marshall Invitational
Fifteen teams to compete over two days
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Marshall men’s golf team will host the Joe Feaganes Marshall Invitational at the Guyan Golf and Country Club, Sept. 11-12. The 15-team tournament will begin Monday at 8:30 a.m., with a shotgun start.
The home tournament will be the start of the 2017-18 season for the Thundering Herd. Marshall ended the 2016-17 season with a fifth place finish at the Conference USA Championships in April, the team’s best finish since 2013.
The teams competing along with Marshall are Akron, Belmont, Cleveland State, Davidson, Dayton, Eastern Kentucky, Longwood, Northern Kentucky, Ohio, Radford, Wichita State, William & Mary, Wright State and Youngstown State.
Marshall will feature senior Alex Weiss, redshirt sophomore Ben Roeder, freshman Brad Plaziak, redshirt junior Thomas Frazier, redshirt freshman Cameron Root and sophomore Cole Moore. The Herd finished fourth at the 2016 Joe Feaganes Marshall Invitational that was played at the Berry Hills Country Club in Charleston, W.Va.
