HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Marshall men’s golf team is traveling to Bowling Green, Ohio, to compete in the 13th annual John Piper Intercollegiate Sept. 16-17. The two-day, 54-hole tournament will be played at Stone Ridge Golf Club.

Marshall will compete against 11 schools, including host Bowling Green. It’s the Herd’s first appearance in the event. Competition starts at 8 a.m. both Monday (36 holes) and Tuesday (18 holes).

The Herd’s team roster will be finalized after qualifying rounds are completed at Guyan Golf & Country Club Friday afternoon.

Marshall will hit the road after finishing seventh in the Joe Feaganes Marshall Invitational, with a score of 14-over-par 866.

The squad had three top 10 finishes in the season opener at Guyan. Freshman Clark Robinson (South Windsor, Conn.) competed as an individual and tied for second with a 5-under 208. Senior Brian Anania (Hurricane, W.Va.) finished tied for fourth with a 4-under 209, and freshman Will Evans posted a 2-under 211 for eighth place.
