RICHMOND, Ky. – The Marshall men’s golf team is back on the links Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 16-17, at the Raising Canes Intercollegiate hosted by Eastern Kentucky. It is the second tournament of the young season for Marshall.
The Thundering Herd is coming off a great performance at the Joe Feaganes Marshall Invitational. The Herd finished as the runner-up and senior Alex Weiss led the field with an 11-under, 131 for the two rounds. The third round was canceled about four holes in as rain made the course unplayable.
Marshall will be competing with host team Eastern Kentucky, Austin Peay, Ball State, Cleveland State, Dayton, Evansville, Florida Gulf Coast, Longwood, Morehead State, Murray State, Northern Kentucky, Samford, SIU Edwardsville, Tennessee Tech and William & Mary.
The players on the links for the Herd will be Weiss, redshirt sophomore Ben Roeder, freshman Brad Plaziak, redshirt junior Thomas Frazier, and redshirt freshman Cameron Root. Sophomore Camden Moore will be playing as an individual.
The two-day will begin Saturday, Sept. 16, with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. The teams will be playing at the University Club at Arlington. It is a par-70 course.
