Miller Announced Marshall Athlete of the Week
Bosten Miller's Tournament Medalist Earns Him MU Player of the Week
Sept. 19, 2011
Huntington, W.Va. – Bosten Miller (Charleston W.Va./Capital HS) was named Marshall University’s Athlete of the Week following his performance in the University of Kentucky Bluegrass Fall Invitational in Lexington, Kentucky. Miller was crowned medalist among the 87 competitors and 15 teams with his two-day, 54-hole total of 211 strokes (-2).
The senior team captain was the only player to post an under-par score throughout the entire tournament. Miller has opened up the 2011-12 season with six straight rounds without going over par, and he currently leads The Herd in average and total shots. In the two, 54-hole matches Bosten is averaging 69.5 strokes every 18 holes and has recorded a total of 417 shots. His 66 on day one of the Marshall Invitational one week ago proves to be his lowest round of the early season.
Bosten and The Herd have finished eighth and fourth in their first two tournaments and will look to finish even higher as Marshall travels to Simpsonville, Kentucky this weekend for the Cardinal Invitational held at The Cardinal Golf Club.
