Men's Golf Travels to Virginia for Patriot Intercollegiate

HUNTINGTON, W. Va. – Marshall men’s golf is headed to Lorton, Va., to play in the second annual Patriot Intercollegiate at Laurel Hills Golf Course Sept. 28 and 29. The Thundering Herd will feature a team of five players as well as an individual competitor.

Marshall will tee off Saturday with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start and will play 36 holes in two rounds. Sunday, the starts will vary due to Day One finishes, but the tee time is set for 8:15 a.m. off holes 1 and 10.

Live stats will not be available, but final stats will be provided at the end of each day of competition on HerdZone.com.

HAVE YOU HERD?
The Marshall squad won its first tournament since 2000 on Sept. 17 in the 13th Annual John Piper Intercollegiate. It was the Herd’s first team victory in 13 years, and at the helm was sophomore Logan Lagodich (Canton, Ohio).

Lagodich shot a team-low 215 over the course of three rounds and finished third overall. Marshall finished with three top ten finishes, and the five student-athletes combined for the tournament-low score of 866 – three strokes ahead of the pack.

SURVEYING THE COURSE
This will be the Herd’s first time playing on Laurel Hills Golf Course. The 6,857-yard course is played as a par-71.
