SAPPHIRE, N.C. – The Marshall men’s golf team is back on the links at the Hummingbird Intercollegiate, hosted by Western Carolina. The two-day, three-round event takes place at the Country Club of Sapphire Valley, Oct. 2-3.
The Thundering Herd has not competed since the EKU Colonel Classic, Sept. 16-17, and is looking to bounce back after finishing tied for 10th.
Competing for Marshall will be senior Alex Weiss, redshirt junior Thomas Frazier, redshirt sophomore Ben Roeder, redshirt freshman Cameron Root and freshman Brad Plaziak. Sophomore Cole Moore will be playing as an individual.
Sixteen teams are featured at the Hummingbird Intercollegiate. Along with Marshall and the host team Western Carolina, the other schools are Central Arkansas, Colgate, Elon, Gardner-Webb, Belmont, Charleston Southern, Radford, Austin Peay, Tennessee Tech, Morehead State, Presbyterian College, Clemson, Wake Forest and Duke.
Marshall’s players tee off from 9:30 a.m, to 10:06 a.m., and will begin on holes 11-15. Fans can follow live scoring on golfstat.com.
