Herd Men’s Golf Wraps up Fall at ODU/OBX Intercollegiate
Event takes place Oct. 22-24 in Powells Point, N.C.
POWELLS POINT, N.C. – The Marshall men’s golf team wraps up the 2017 fall season at the ODU/OBX Intercollegiate hosted by Old Dominion. The event will be played at the Kilmarlic Golf Club Oct. 22-24. Three rounds are scheduled, one for each day.
The Herd has not played since the Health Plan Mountaineer Invitational, Oct. 9-10. Senior Alex Weiss was named Conference USA Men’s Golfer of the Week on Oct. 11 after winning the Mountaineer Invite, his second win of the fall. Weiss has finished in the top five in all four of the Herd’s fall tournaments.
Competing for the Herd will be Weiss, redshirt junior Thomas Frazier, redshirt sophomore Ben Roeder, sophomore Cole Moore and redshirt freshman Cameron Root.
Eighteen teams will be participating in the event. Along with Marshall and the host school Old Dominion the other schools will be Akron, Ball State, Campbell, Delaware, Drake, Drexel, George Mason, Georgetown, Hartford, Longwood, Manhattan, Nebraska-Omaha, North Dakota State, Saint Francis, Saint Joseph’s and Towson.
Kilmarlic is a par 71 that covers 6,502 yards.
