Nov. 14, 2011

HUNTINGTON, W.Va.- The Thundering Herd men’s golf team announced the signing of Logan Lagodich this past weekend, and will now await his contribution to the program when he arrives at Marshall next fall.

The son of Mike and Christina Lagodich, Logan currently attends Canton Central Catholic High School in Canton, Ohio. He was a First Team All-Ohio and First Team All-Northeast Ohio member in 2010 and 2011, and was a member of a Central Catholic team that was runner-up in Ohio’s 2011 High School State Tournament.

Individually, Lagodich was the 2011 runner-up in Ohio’s State Tournament, and was also the Sectional Champion that same year. For his high school career, Lagodich has an 18-hole scoring average of 74.4.

Lagodich also has strong ties to the American Junior Golf Association, and has had success in a number of AJGA events including a 3rd place score at the Columbus Junior Open, a 13th place finish at the Stonehenge Junior Open, and an 11th place rank at the Preseason Junior at Whitehawk Country Club.

“Logan is an outstanding prospect, as evidenced by his high school and AJGA results,” said head men’s golf coach Joe Feaganes. “He should have an immediate impact on our golf team.”

Lagodich will be welcomed to a Herd team that already fields several talented golfers, and will begin playing with the team as a freshman at the start of the fall 2012 season.
