HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Men’s soccer goalkeeper Daniel Withrow has been named Marshall Student-Athlete of the Week after not allowing a goal in two games of action last week.

The Conference USA preseason selection for defensive player of the year has started in net in all three games the Thundering Herd has played. He has yet to allow a goal on the season and made six saves in his squad’s two games last week.

Against Bowling Green, the Rochester Hills, Mich. Native stopped four shots. Against IPFW, the senior had two saves as the Herd improved to 2-0-1 with a 1-0 win over the Mastodons.

Withrow and the Herd are back on the pitch this weekend as they travel to take on Liberty Friday and the hometown squad, VMI, Sunday.
