MEMPHIS, Tenn. - For the second-consecutive year, the Marshall men's soccer team opens the Conference USA slate as the Thundering Herd and the Memphis Tigers faceoff in Memphis, Tenn., Saturday, Sept. 18. Kickoff is set of 8 p.m. EST.

Last year the Herd and the Kentucky Wildcats faced off in the first C-USA match of the season as Marshall topped then-ranked No. 22 Kentucky in double overtime, 1-0, courtesy of a Dustin Dawes golden-goal.

MU (4-0-2) is coming off a 2-0 home victory last Wednesday against Wright State. Jordan Hilgefort headed home his second game-winning goal of the season, while Tom Jackson also tallied his second goal and now leads the team with six points.

Memphis enters Saturday's contest at 2-2 with wins over Belmont (4-0) and North Florida (6-0), while suffering losses to Oral Roberts (1-0) and Charlotte (4-0).

The Herd will remain in Tennessee after the C-USA contest with the Tigers as MU travels to Johnson City, Tenn., for a Monday night, Sept. 20, battle with East Tennessee State University at 6:30 p.m. EST.

With 398 wins to his credit, head coach Bob Gray can earn his 400th career victory if the Herd can top both Memphis and ETSU. Gametracker will be available for both games on herdzone.com
