Glueckschalt and Kershaw Named to C-USA All-Academic Team

IRVING, Texas - Marshall men's soccer seniors Jascha Glueckschalt and Christian Kershaw were named to the Conference USA All-Academic Team Presented by InTouch Credit Union, the league office announced Wednesday. It was the first such honor for both players.
 
Glueckschalt has played and started every match this season for Marshall. He leads the team with 1,504 minutes played. The Lautertal, Germany, native carries one of the highest GPAs on the team with a 3.81 as a management major. He was a member of the Conference USA Commissioner's Honor Roll in 2016-17 and was an Academic Medalist for a GPA of 3.75 or better in his first season with the Herd. Glueckschalt transferred to Marshall in 2016 after spending two seasons and Gardner-Webb in Boiling Springs, N.C. A key defender for the Herd, he also has one assist this season that came at Northern Kentucky.
 
Kershaw has appeared in 69 matches with 64 starts during his four year Marshall career and has logged nearly 5,800 minutes played, all while excelling in the classroom. The Severna Park, Md., native has a 3.91 GPA as a sport management major. Kershaw has been named to the Conference USA Commissioner's Honor Roll three times and was an Academic Medalist the past two seasons. The senior midfielder has been a key role player this season with eight starts and coming off the bench in five other matches. He has six shots with two on goal.
 
Marshall takes on Kentucky Wednesday afternoon at 4:30 p.m., in the quarterfinals of the Conference USA Tournament. The match can be viewed on CUSA TV.
