Hilgefort Claims Second Academic Award of Season
Named to C-USA Men’s Soccer All-Academic Team
IRVING, Texas- Marshall’s senior defender Jordan Hilgefort claimed his second academic award of the 2011 season this past week when the Hebron, Ky., native was named to the Conference USA Men’s Soccer All-Academic Team.
As the Thundering Herd’s starting right-back and co-captain, Hilgefort helped the team win eight games and advance to the C-USA Tournament this past season, and accounted for one goal, two assists, and four shutouts on the field. More impressively, he posted a 3.86 GPA in the classroom during his tenure with the team, and it is for that feat that he receives the honor.
This is the second year in a row that Hilgefort was voted to the C-USA All-Academic Team, and the recognition comes after he received a spot on the Capital One Academic All-Region II Team last week. Hilgefort is the Herd’s only representative on either academic team this season.
