Women's Basketball Faces UCF on Sunday|

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Marshall returns to the Cam Henderson Center for a Sunday afternoon match-up against the UCF Knights. The game is scheduled to tip off at 1:00 p.m. ET and will be Marshall’s fifth Conference USA contest of the season.
The Herd enter the game with a 12-5 (3-1 C-USA) record after most recently taking a loss to West Virginia in Charleston, W.Va. during the Chesapeake Energy Capital Classic. For the season, Marshall is out-scoring their opponents by just over eight points and has been dominating the boards, out-rebounded all but one opponent for the year. The Herd enters the game with a 43.1 rebound per game average and have a rebounding margin of plus-7.8. Marshall is shooting 37.4 from the field and is second in the league with a 32.9 percent average in three-pointers.
Jasmine Shaw and Lateidra Elliott lead the team in points per game with 7.9 and 7.7, respectively, despite being non-starters. Shaw leads the team with a 46.9 percent average from the field, while Elliott is the leader in the conference with a 47.4 percent average from behind the arc. Erica Woods leads the team on the glass with 6.5 rebounds per game after collecting 104 for the year. She also claims the third spot in C-USA in free throw percentage with a 78.6 percent average. Victoria Wells ranks No. 66 in the nation with a 2.6 steals per game ratio and leads the Herd in steals with 45, while Leandra King has a team-high 24 blocked shots.
UCF enters the game 8-9 (3-2 C-USA) after winning back-to-back games against Rice and Southern Miss. The most recent win against Rice was a 65-63 victory in overtime. For the season, the Knights are being out-scored by their opponents by just under four points and are being held to only a 20 percent average in three-pointers. On the boards, UCF obtains 42.9 rebounds per game and averages 9.5 steals and 2.1 blocks on the defensive end per contest. Aisha Patrick leads UCF with 15.4 points per game and Gevenia Carter follows with 11.1. Patrck also leads the team in steals and totals 37 assists. Carter leads the team in assists with 51. Erika Jones is the only player on the squad to average double-digit rebounds with 10.2 and records 174 for the year. She also has a team-high 10 blocks. The 6-2 forward is shooting 50 percent from the field after making 59-of-118 for the season.
